Thressa (Knight) Linger, age 96 of Findlay, passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Bridge Hospice Care Center. Thressa was born on July 15, 1922 in North Baltimore, Ohio to the late Theressa (Toth) Kucsik. She was raised by her mother and step-father Marion Parson.
Thressa was married to Joe Knight and he preceded her in death. She then married Kyle M. Linger on March 20, 1966. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2013. She is survived by a son Ray (Sally) Knight of Findlay, Ohio, a daughter, Sandra Ann Wittenmyer of Somonauk, IL, and a step-daughter, Carol Sue Linger of Lompoc, CA; 7 grandchildren: Travis (Jenni) Knight, Kurt (Kate) Knight, Jessica (Ed) Clements, Kellie (Van) Truman, Karrie (Josh) Ferris, Kamie (Dan) Covert, and Caleb (Veronica) Wittenmyer; and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Mary (Raymond) Reynolds, her mother Theressa and her step-father Marion Parson.
Thressa was a member at First United Brethren Church in Findlay, Ohio. Thressa had an unwavering faith in God. She was a graduate of North Baltimore High School. She was a hard-working woman and worked in housekeeping at Marathon Oil Company for 22 years before retiring. She also assisted her husband Joe in the Whitehouse Hamburger business.
Thressa dearly loved her family and loved taking care of them by cooking for them, especially at Thanksgiving. She wouldn't leave the kitchen until everyone was full and the clean-up was done. Thressa was loved by so many. Everywhere she went she ran into someone that knew her or her twin sister Mary. The two of them would ride their bikes or walk all around town together, and were avid polka dancers. Thressa also enjoyed bowling in the Prime Timers Bowling League with Mary and their husbands.
Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME, 500 Lima Ave, Findlay, Ohio. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Dilley officiating. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.
