Alice Ann Benson, 74, of Liberty Township, Hancock County, died at 11:21 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center.
Alice was born on July 6, 1944 in Findlay to the late A. Ray and Dorothy (Ecker) Thomas. Alice was a 1962 graduate of Findlay High School. She married Wayne W. Benson on February 24, 1973 and he preceded her in death on August 15, 2014.
Surviving are a daughter, Christine K. (Wayne) Meadows of Findlay; three grandchildren; Brittney Meadows of Findlay, Alexandria Meadows (Fiance: Jason Mattox) of Arcadia, Dezaray (Cole) Karrick of McComb; and five great grandchildren who were the light of her life, Carsyn and Brogan Fisher, Brantley, Jaxson and Novalie Karrick. She is also survived by her biggest Newfoundland ever, Beau. Alice was preceded in death by her only brother, Joe (Ann) Thomas.
Alice was a Tupperware Manager for many years and also sold advertising. Her greatest love was buying and selling antiques with her husband, Wayne.
She especially enjoyed going to her grandchildren's sporting events and was definitely their biggest fan. She was just beginning to follow her great grandchildren's sporting events. She also enjoyed making her numerous fairy gardens.
Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the funeral home with Rev. James Ridge officiating. Burial will follow in Benton Ridge Cemetery.
