Joann A. Poma, age 82 of Mt. Blanchard, passed away at 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Fox Run Manor in Findlay. Joann was born on December 17, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to Joseph and Mildred (DeMeerleer) Bennett.
On November 20, 1954 Joann married William Michael Poma, Sr. She enjoyed 63 years of marriage with the love of her life before he passed on September 4, 2017. Joann is survived by her children, Bill (Beth) Poma, Jr., Cindy Bormuth, and Diane (Edward "Skeeter") Romatowski, all of Findlay. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Jeremi Howard (Amber Bowers), Lindsay (John) Wensink, Jason (Brooke) Bormuth, Samantha Bormuth, Kelsi Romatowski (Sam Adams), Courtney Bormuth, and Nick Poma (Sam Mieure); and four great-grandchildren: Maren Howard, Gianna Howard, Abram Bormuth and Thaddeus Bormuth. She is survived by two sisters, Diane (Bruce) Theriot of Gardnerville, Nevada, and Judy (Robert) Collier of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Bennett, and a sister, Patricia Wycoff.
Joann was formerly employed as a seamstress for Theatrical Accessories as well as being a homemaker.
Joann and Bill were former members of the Moose, American Legion, and the Amvets. Joann was also a member of the Red Hat Society and her Mahjong group. She loved to play Bingo and travel with her husband extensively. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Joann loved everyone and everyone loved Joann.
Visitation for friends and family of Joann will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 1-3:00 p.m. at KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME, 500 Lima Ave Findlay, Ohio. Funeral service will begin after visitation on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. William Smith officiating.
