Kathleen (Woerner) Chambers, age 81 of Findlay, passed away at 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at her residence.
Kathy was born on November 5, 1939 in Findlay, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Rosella Woerner Moser and Robert Woerner.
Kathy married DuWayne Chambers on December 24, 1958 and he survives. She is also survived by her children, Doug (Sherri) Chambers, Deborah Chambers, and Karla Hoop; and 4 grandchildren, Lindsey (Bruce) Karle, Steven Hoop, Gage Chambers, and Benjamin Chambers, along with 2 great grandchildren, Landon Hoop and Alison Karle. She is also survived by several nieces, a nephew, several great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Kenneth Park Chambers who passed away on October 28, 2010, and two sisters, Shirley Stout and Ruthann Wallace.
When Kathy became ill from a stroke in December, 2019, DuWayne took a leave of absence to care for her on a per diem basis for 9 months; making sure that during the pandemic, she was in no way affected. He was at her bedside when she peacefully passed due to complications from another stroke.
Kathy worked at Marathon Oil Company for several years before starting a family. She became a homemaker, raised her children and assisted her husband in more recent years after the children had grown. She enjoyed learning of ways to improving the health of family and friends and had her own health food store for 10 years.
Over the years, Kathy was involved in church choirs, a Sunday School teacher and a Bible Study leader. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. They always put a smile on her face.
Kathy was a member of Findlay First Nazarene Church, 2501 Broad Avenue, Findlay, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please make any contributions in memory of Kathy to the church.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME. The funeral service will follow at 1 pm on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at the funeral home with Pastor Mike McClurg officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Masks are required and social distancing should be observed whenever possible.
