Ann E. Crawford 89, of Findlay passed away at 6:21 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the Heritage Nursing Home. She was born on January 12, 1935 in Jenera, Ohio to the late Theodore and Wilda (Heldman) Smith.
Ann attended Trinity Lutheran School in Jenera, Ohio and Saginaw Michigan Lutheran Seminary before graduating from Arlington High School, Class of 1953.
Ann married James D. Crawford on November 17, 1956 and he preceded her in death on August 15, 1999. Ann and Jim were blessed with three children; Stephen E. Crawford, Annette Crawford and Mary Daniels, all of Findlay. Also surviving are grandchildren; Kristina (Aaron) Biederstedt of Whitehouse, Ohio, Emilee (Lowell) Evans of Elida, Ohio, Philip (Bob) Marzola-Hughes of Perrysburg and Drew Hughes of Findlay; great grandchildren; Brayden Roberts, Chaz Roberts, Aurora Roberts of Elida, Ohio; Zain, and Kyndall Biederstedt of Whitehouse, and Brogan Marzola-Hughes of Perrysburg, Ohio.
Ann is also survived by her sister, Jane (Jim) Smith of Bluffton, Ohio and a sister-in-law, Loretta (Larry) Porter of Findlay.
Ann was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jenera. She was formerly employed as a dental hygienist at the office of Dr. Keiser. She also worked as a teacher’s aide at Virgina Woodbury’s Nursery School. Following Virginia’s retirement, Ann then helped Maridell Gault at the school.
Ann’s grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of her life and will live on with the legacy of her love and kindness. She always wanted to know how school was going for them. They shared special times together, especially at Christmas gatherings, and they were the apples of her eye.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Monday April 1, 2024 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio. Ann’s funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jenera, Ohio, officiated by Pastor Matthew Nowak. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
